Traci Wheeler and I are excited to provide you another update from the Corptax User’s Conference – 2011 (#corptax11)!  Day one finished up with a networking event focused around Monday Night Football.  Check out our Facebook site for some additional pictures.  As Traci is a Florida Gator fan (yes, that would be college football), and I am a die hard Patriots fan, we struggled to watch the game, but had a great time networking with some of our colleagues including Alan Marsh (KBR) and Dennis Sylvester (Dover Corp) among many others…(again check out some of the pictures we posted on Facebook).

Day two in San Antonio, TX opened for us with a session by Deloitte entitled “Global Tax Portals:  Enhancing and Driving Global Tax Processes”.  Leon Jones and Kendall McDade (Deloitte) did a stellar job of presenting definitions around what most tax professionals have only been hearing some “scuttle butt” around (but perhaps not truly understanding the value/meaning).  They explained not only the definitions of modern day eTaxPortals today, but also demonstrated current product solutions in addition to what Deloitte is offering in this solution space.  Very exciting stuff for us given that RedMoon Solutions is a big proponent of tax portals and effective/efficient implementation of collaboration, workflow, document management and audit solutions!  This session was a fantastic segue into tax process automation and tax process improvement from Corptax clients and partners, and other tax product solution updates from the CORPTAX team.

Day two concluded with Traci and I participating in Tax Process Improvement sessions facilitated by McGladrey and Ryan, some Tax Workspace updates and Entity Management sessions.  We are also happy to announce that Jian Liu (Federal Tax Manager at Denso) and Joshua Bramlett (Tax Manager at World Fuel Services) won the Red Moon Solutions Sponsor Raffle at CORPTAX University!  Congrats Jian and Joshua!  We love to see tax professionals come away with some learning as well as some COLD CASH!
