Parkour for Tax Pros?
What are some of your New Year’s Resolutions for 2012? As usual this year, I have been hearing lots of folks telling me that they are going to get back in shape, and/or are planning to lose those unwanted ten or twenty pounds. Others tell me they are going to do something “risky” this year, something on their bucket list or to learn a brand new skill. What are your resolutions for this coming year?
A friend of mine just shared this video with me. I must have missed this episode of “The Office” which is depicted in the video. It cracked me up, so I thought I would share it with all of you. It is worth a gander. For those of you who have never seen “parkour” you are missing out. It is essentially a training method founded in the 90′s by David Belle in France, which focuses on rational movement in natural and urban environments. The objective is to move around obstacles with the greatest speed and efficiency. This can be done as creatively as possible by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing and jumping (flying?).
As you watch the video, just think about it from the perspective of your New Year’s Resolutions. You could learn a new skill, lose some weight, do something risky and check something off your bucket list, all in one with this idea! Or…you could simply show this to your colleagues and other tax professional friends and get a good laugh while they attempt “parkour”. I actually think this is what I would look like if I attempted such a feat. Check it out!

I think that’s how I would look too! Still, it makes a good argument that with practice we can improve, but it’s always a failure the first few times. Hopefully not so publicly though.
I know. I agree! The folks that do this regularly are amazing.
